The India Meteorological Department has issued warnings for heavy to very heavy rainfall in several areas, along with thunderstorms, lightning and squally conditions.
East Uttar Pradesh is expected to receive very heavy rainfall on September 25, while West Uttar Pradesh may also experience heavy rain. The IMD has also warned of thunderstorms, lightning and squally weather in the state.
The weather system is expected to remain active over parts of Uttar Pradesh over the next few days, with further rainfall warnings issued for September 26 and 27.
Bihar is also likely to receive heavy rainfall on Friday. The IMD has issued a warning for heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.
Jharkhand, parts of West Bengal and neighbouring eastern regions are also expected to experience significant rainfall. People in areas vulnerable to waterlogging and strong winds have been advised to remain alert.
Weather activity is expected to intensify across central India. Parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha may receive heavy to very heavy rainfall.
Chhattisgarh could also experience strong winds along with thunderstorms and lightning. The weather conditions may lead to temporary disruption in travel and outdoor activities in affected areas.
Odisha is expected to continue receiving heavy rainfall following the movement of a weather system over the Bay of Bengal. Parts of eastern India, including West Bengal, are also likely to experience heavy showers and thunderstorms.
The weather system has already produced significant rainfall and strong winds along parts of the eastern coast, with authorities monitoring conditions closely.
Several northeastern states are also likely to receive rain and thunderstorms. Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura may experience periods of heavy rainfall along with lightning and gusty winds.
Residents in areas prone to flooding or landslides should remain cautious during periods of intense rainfall.
Rain and thunderstorms are also expected in parts of Maharashtra. Konkan and Goa may see stormy weather, while Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada could experience strong winds and rain.
In southern India, rainfall is possible across parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema. Some areas may also experience thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds.
While several neighbouring states are under rainfall warnings, the latest IMD subdivision forecast does not show a specific warning for Delhi, Haryana or Chandigarh for September 25.
Overall, the weather on September 25 is expected to remain active across large parts of central, eastern, northern and southern India. People in areas under heavy-rain and thunderstorm warnings should follow local weather updates and take precautions during lightning, strong winds and intense rainfall.
