Oregon Health Officials Warn of New Measles Exposure Sites

Health officials in Oregon are warning people about possible measles exposure at three health-care facilities in the Portland area.
The locations include:
- Randall Children’s Clinic at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland
- Randall Children’s Hospital emergency department in Portland
- Legacy Mount Hood Medical Center emergency department in Gresham
People who were at these places during the reported times may have been exposed to measles.
Measles spreads very easily. Symptoms usually include fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes and a rash. Symptoms can appear up to 21 days after exposure.
Health officials are asking people to check whether they have received the MMR vaccine. Anyone who develops symptoms after possible exposure should call a doctor before going to a hospital or clinic so they do not spread the virus to others.
Officials say vaccination is one of the best ways to protect against measles.
